ShopMarvels.com was developed by Jon Cantin after over a decade of experience with shop owners and manufacturers around the world.

He saw that manufacturers were looking for ways to expand their marketing base, shop owners were looking for a medium to express their expertise and customers looking for a trusted directory which would allow their projects to come to fruition.

He is the author of several design books and has been an entrepreneur most of his life. He began his first business as a teenager and was soon visiting industrial shops around North America producing 3D industrial animations. His operations grew internationally for several years with later expansions into custom programming though his company, i3DS International Corporation. During this time, he acquired his pilot and motorcycling licenses.

He then decided to spend a few years traveling around the world, learning, teaching and experiencing as much out of life as possible. It was during this time that WoodMarvels.com was formed (source for CNC router DXF, laser cutter EPS and woodcraft PDF project files and kits) and later, 3DMarvels.com (source for 3D printer STL and COLLADA project files and models). The ingenuity of creative people is amazing, they create marvels… hence the name.
